We've had a fantastic fall sports season and each of our five teams did very well. We are pleased to announce that our JH boys flag football team made it to the championship game which will be played November 16.

Judson International School had a very busy fall athletics season, with five sports teams competing.  We are proud of our teams and wanted to give some highlights from our season.

Junior High School Flag Football

Our junior high flag football team had an amazing season.  They were undefeated for the entire season.  They just won the semi-finals in the Foothill Sports League and are scheduled to play in the championship game on Thursday, November 16 at 7:30 pm at Maranatha.  Come on out and cheer our Eagles!

High School Flag Football

Our high school boys flag football team is in its second season as a combined team with Pasadena Waldorf.  Our boys had a good season, winning three of their six games.  Way to go, guys!

Junior High Volleyball

Our junior high girls volleyball team was coached by Judson alum, Hannah Beckler.  We had enough girls to have both varsity and junior varsity teams.  Our varsity girls won three games and made it to the first round of the quarterfinals in the Foothill Sports League.  Way to go, girls!

High School Volleyball

Our high school girls volleyball team joined forces with the Pasadena Waldorf high school girls.  We had an amazing season,  winning 12 of our 14 games.  The combined high school girls team made it into the 1st round of the CIF-Southern Section playoffs.  Well done!

Family Night was filled with fun and activity at Judson School as students present their projects to parents and friends.

Judson International School holds Fall Family Night to showcase projects in history and the arts.

Judson International School held its fall Family Night on November 2.   The whole Judson School community to gathered and enjoyed seeing the students' hard work. All the classrooms were open and teacher, students, families, and friends attend.

Judson K-8 students presented the history projects they have been working on all fall, based on the time period they are studying in Judson's International Christian Curriculum.      Kindergarteners, first and second graders have been studying archeology, Ancient Egypt, and Mesopotamia; third and fourth graders have been studying the Age of Exploration, fifth and sixth graders have been studying Ancient Rome, Ancient India, Ancient China and Ancient Japan; seventh graders have been studying the Renaissance and eighth-graders have been studying American History.

Also at Judson's Family Nights, the 9-12 graders hosted their annual Creative Arts Night.    This year's theme was Resistance Movements.    Students from our high school art classes presented special art projects centered around "Resistance."   The musical theater class also presented a special dance number. Judson's top poetry recitation candidates recited poetry, competing for the top spot to represent Judson at the Los Angeles Poetry Out Loud Competition.  The first place winner was Ella Jun, Judson class of 2019.  She will compete at the country level in February 2018.

We had a wonderful turn out for our first ever fall BBQ!

The Judson School community had a wonderful Fall BBQ this past weekend on October 20.    Families enjoyed a delicious Polynesian BBQ meal, entertainment by our musical theater class, fun games, and worship led by our high school worship team.  We had a great turnout of about 150 people!  Plans are already in place for doing a Fall BBQ again next year.

Judson seeks to build up our school community through a variety of events throughout the year,  including a New Parent Orientation, Fall BBQ,  community Thanksgiving potluck, Advent Tree lighting, Christmas worship service, our annual gala, our spring musical, etc.

Stay tuned for details on our next community event which will be our all-school international Thanksgiving potluck.  We are glad you are all here.

We are pleased to announce that Judson has once again been voted the Pasadena Weekly's Reader Recommended "Best Private School in Pasadena."

Judson International School Wins Pasadena Weekly's Reader Recommended Best Private School in Pasadena Award for the second year in a row

We are pleased to announce that Judson School has received the 2017 Pasadena Weekly award for "Reader Recommended Best Private School in Pasadena,"  an award we also received in 2016.  This award was based on the votes of residents throughout Pasadena.  This award is the fourth educational award Judson has received in the last two years.  In 2016 we received the Beacon Media Silver Award for "Best Private Co-ed High School in San Gabriel Valley and the Pasadena Weekly 2016 award for "Reader Recommended Best Private School in Pasadena."  In addition to this most recent award, we also won the 2017 Beacon Media Gold Award for "Best Middle School in San Gabriel Valley."

We believe that the combination of our unique curriculum, our focus on knowledge through investigative learning, our teaching of understanding through critical thinking,  and our passion for wisdom to act with justice and mercy have been a winning combination.  At Judson students love to learn and care deeply about their school community and the world beyond.

Our junior high sports teams have been busy practicing and they will both be playing today!

Fall Junior High Athletics at Judson International School includes varsity and junior varsity girls volleyball and boys flag football teams.     We are excited to have our first girls volleyball game happening today (October 3) vs. Aveson at Loma Alta park 4 pm.  We also have our first boys flag football home game happening today on our Judson field at 3:45 pm.  Come on out and cheer on our Eagles!  To keep up with the game schedule visit the Athletics page of our website.

Judson has excellent coaches for all sports.  We are excited that Judson alum Hannah Beckler is joining us this year to coach the junior high girls volleyball team.  We are very happy to have Chuck Fields, our Athletic Director, coaching the junior high boys once again this year.

Judson's aim is to demonstrate sportsmanship, to grow in character, to develop meaningful relationships, and to gain a clearer understanding of what it means to be Christian in the context of team sports. Judson International School's Sports Program accepts all students who wish to participate in any of our sports. Our coaching staff will coach all athletes regardless of their ability. Our coaches' desire is to introduce all the benefits of playing competitive sports to the first-time athlete and advance the returning athlete to a higher level of athletic ability and competition.

Our teachers have been busy taking Judson students on field trips. See the photos here!

One of Judson's core values is knowledge through investigative learning.  We love our students to get out exploring the world and learning by doing and seeing.  This fits in well with the International Christian Curriculum , a unique integrative curriculum that teaches children from the earliest age about understanding the world.  Already this year our Judson elementary teachers have been busy taking their students on field trips. The first and second graders went to the La Brea Tar Pits as part of their student of paleontology.  To learn about astronomy, the third and fourth graders went to the Griffith Observatory with their teacher Mrs. Berry.    Fifth and sixth graders went to the California Science Center to learn more about anatomy and physiology.  Such investigative learning opportunities enhance our STEM curriculum and provide students with memorable experiences that enhance the classroom.
